"Nice castle BUT absolutely avoid the owner !! Beware of dishonesty & fraud ! We organised our wedding here at Chateau de Thugny and the castle is beautiful and very charming - but this cannot be said at all about the owner M. de Causans. He was welcoming only until the contract was signed and he received the down payment, from there on the problems started, all was suddenly difficult and he was most unhelpful and could not be bothered to help us. Just a few "highlights": When our champagne was being delivered he was not willing or able to take the delivery several times (despite an agreed delivery date), so that we ended up 2 days before the wedding with no champagne!! For the brunch on the Sunday, we had 'dared' to put his chairs and tables outside on the grass as the weather was nice. He told us later we were not allowed to do that and wanted to charge us exta for using them outside! (while we had already rented them for the entire weekend!!) He also did not allow us to visit the castle the Monday before the wedding to already bring some decoration - claiming that other guests would still be there - when we drove by, surprisingly we found the castle deserted. After the wedding he seriously told us that our contract did not include the disposal of trash??!! SO HE FORCED THE PARENTS OF THE BRIDE TO TAKE ALL THE TRASH WITH THEM!!! THEY WERE SHOCKED!!! Finally, when it came to returning our deposit of 1500€, he came up with a list of additional claims - most of them very questionable, 300€ in total - but we agreed to pay because we did not have the energy anymore to argue after a wonderful wedding. In return we agreed with him that we would get our cheque for the deposit back. INSTEAD, Jacques de Causans cashed the cheque of 1500€ while we were on honeymoon without telling us!!! This is unbelievably fraudulent and dishonest!!! We had to contact the police and are still waiting to have our money back!! To sum it up - we had a wonderful wedding at Chateau de Thugny - but this came with lots of unnecessary struggle and was not because, but despite of the owner M. de Causans - with whom we had an extremely bad experience since the contract was signed. I cannot recommend anyone to do business with him, he is extremely sneaky and will only be helpful until the contract is signed. After that he shows a different face and will point you to the fine print and tell you that this cannot be done, or it will cost extra. DO NOT expect to get anything which was promised, if you do not have it in writing. Sadly you cannot rely on his word. When it comes to his own duties, however he will have lots of excuses why something cannot be done. So our advice is clear - stay away!!"

"Asistí este fin de semana a una boda y ha sido una experiencia inolvidable! Lugar inmejorable y la comida excepcional! Los camareros muy atentos y el comedor preparado al detalle. Además, las diferentes estancias te permiten preparar ambientes diferentes con lo que resultó una boda diferente y muy divertida! Me encantaría un día volver y poder alejarme en una de sus habitaciones. Lo recomiendo muchísimo!"

"Nous avons choisi le château de Thugny pour notre mariage et nous ne regrettons absolument pas ce choix. - Le lieu est magnifique et a sublimé notre mariage. Les différentes salles permettent de créer des ambiances différentes : pour la cérémonie, le dîner, et la piste de danse. Nous avons également réalisé le vin d'honneur et le brunch du lendemain à l'extérieur, ce qui fut très agréable. - Le château dispose de 16 chambres (en supplément) avec leur salle de bain, ce qui est très pratique. - Il est possible de louer directement les différents éléments de mobilier qui sont déjà sur place, ce qui est très pratique également. - Le propriétaire Jacques de Causans a toujours été d'une grande amabilité avec nous, avec la volonté de nous accompagner au maximum. Il a répondu à nos questions en amont et s'est montré également disponible lors de l'installation et du mariage en accueillant les différents prestataires. Il s'est très bien entendu également avec nos familles. Un grand merci à lui !"
